ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR COSTA RICA VISA
In order to be eligible to travel to the country on a visa, you will have to meet the following eligibility criteria.
- Be a genuine traveller-You must have a valid and good intention behind travelling to the country.
- Eligible to bear all expenses –You must possess sufficient funds to support yourself and any dependents throughout the stay.
- Reasons to return – You must have strong ties in your home country that will ensure that you will return after your stay.
- Be of good character – You must have a clean criminal track record and be of good character. You may have to provide PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) for the same.
- Be in good health –You must at least meet the minimum health requirements required by the authorities.

- Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and minimum 3 blank pages + all old passports if any
- 2 Scanned recent colour photograph. (Photo Specification);
- 2 Visa Application forms: completed and signed
- Personal Covering letter: explaining purpose of travel to the country
- Original Bank Statement: stamped & updated for last 3 months with bank seal
- Air tickets: proof of return flight tickets from and back to your home country
- Hotel reservation: proof of accommodation for your entire stay
- Police record: issued within the last six months authenticated by the Secretary of State under "Apostille". (Translated into Spanish)

Yes. Indians need a visa to travel to Costa Rica. You are required to obtain a visa from the Costa Rican consulate in your country prior to traveling to Costa Rica. You will not be allowed entry at the border if you do not have this visa stamped in your passport. A Costa Ricavisa for Indians can be private, tourist, business and work – depending on the purpose of a visit.
Yes, you can request to get your visa extended at the General Directorate of Immigration in Costa Rica. The approval of extension is subject to the officers’ decisions and the immigration department’s directives.
