ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR AUSTRALIA VISA
1. Indian National holding a valid Indian passport can apply for Australian Visa online.
2. Person wishes to travel to Australia for the purpose of Tourism/Family or friends Visit/Business can apply visa through Visa Lounge. Person who seeks employment in Australia is not eligible to apply through Visa Lounge.
3. Travel insurance is not mandatory requirement for passengers traveling to Australia. Visa Lounge also provides Travel Insurance to passengers at an additional cost.
Business :
1. In case of Employee -Proof of employment (employment certificate/NOC) and Pay slip of last 3 months.
2. In case applicant is the proprietor / owner of the company-,Cover letter on companies letter head, company’s Original 3 month’s E-bank statement (Not Mandatory), proof of paid income tax (for 3 years), company memo, partnership deal, establishment license or proprietorship etc. are required.
3. If the applicant is sponsored – proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation by completing a national form of the Schengen State concerned (seethe website of the Member State of destination)
4. If the applicant is retired- Proof of retirement, pension statements for the last three months; – proof of regular income generated by ownership of property or business.
Tourist:
1. In case of Employee –Proof of employment (employment certificate/NOC) and Pay slip of last 3 months.
2. In case applicant is the proprietor / owner of the company-,Cover letter on companies letter head ,company’s Original 3 month’s E-bank statement , proof of paid income tax (for 3 years), company memo, partnership deal, establishment license or proprietorship etc. are required.
3. For student- leave letter / report card issued from School and ID is required.
4. Parent’s noc letter on 100stamp paper with notary + passports copies 1st and address page and Form 1229 filled & signed by parent ..If travelling alone year of under 18 age of applicant.
5. If family/friend invitee – Invitation letter: Invitation letter from host person to mentioning applicant name, passport details, traveling date as well as duration of days, relationship, who is bear all the travel expenses? in PDF file Invitation Letter should be address- to the visa officer, Australia High Commission, New Delhi.
Invitee passport copy along with PR copy
If Invitee sponsoring then arrange the following documents in PDF file:
- Bank Statement last 06 month
- Salary slip last 06 month
- Utility bill
6. If the applicant is retired- Proof of retirement, pension statements for the last three months; – proof of regular income generated by ownership of property or business.
7. If applicant is travelling for honeymoon then Marriage certificate or Marriage Card and Engagement / Marriage photographs are required.

- 1 Photos (Passport size, Camera clicked, latest with white background) - with 70 to 80% face coverage, 35 x 45 mm size, Embassy does not accept photo with white shirt/t-shirt
- Covering letter (Addressed to The Australian High Commission)
- Personal E-Bank Statement for last six months mentioning the Bank’s name, Bank’s Telephone Number clearly
- Salary Slips (Last 03 Months)
- Income Tax Papers for last 03 yrs
- Hotel Confirmation with day-to-day Tour Itinerary and flights ticket (Not Mandatory)
- Occupation proof
Australia Visa FAQs
All persons, other than Australian citizens require a visa or authority to enter Australia. All Indian citizens require an Australia visa.
Applicants are advised to apply for an Australia Visa in advance but not earlier then 90 days prior to the date of travel. The Australian High Commission recommends that you apply at least 3 weeks prior to your date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.
You should not purchase non-refundable tickets or accommodation prior to the grant of a visa. Any such purchases are the sole responsibility of the visa applicant. The Department of Home Affairs recommends that you lodge your Australia Visa application well ahead of your proposed travel date and finalize travel arrangements after visa issue.
The Australia Visa is an E-Visa i.e. it is not a Sticker visa endorsed on the passport, once decision is taken by the Australian High Commission; E-Visa will be mailed on the registered Email ID which is mentioned on the visa form.
