If you are applying for the Saudi Arabia e-visa as an Indian citizen, you need to have the following basic requirements:
- Passport: When leaving or entering Saudi Arabia, you should have a valid passport. It should be valid for six months from the date of arrival.
- Valid visas: If you have a valid UK/US/Schengen visa and have travelled with it, you can apply for an e-visa.
- Photographs: Recent passport-sized photographs that meet the visa photo requirements.
A tourist visa permits the performance of Umrah, the lesser pilgrimage, but does not authorise the Hajj pilgrimage. A specific Hajj visa is required to undertake the Hajj. Travellers wishing to perform Umrah can obtain an Umrah permit through the official government channel, which the government of Saudi Arabia authorizes.
Note: Umrah is not allowed during the Hajj season for those who do not intend to combine it with Hajj.
While Al Madinah is open to all tourists, access to Makkah is restricted to Muslim visitors. Tourists with valid visas can explore Al Madinah and its surroundings, but visiting Makkah is prohibited.
If you are entering Saudi Arabia for the first time using a Schengen, UK, or US visa or residency permit, please ensure the following:
- Your Schengen, UK, or US visa or permit is currently valid, and you must have travelled once with the visa.
- Your visa is categorised as a business or tourist visa.
- Your visa or permit has a physical entry stamp from the issuing country (digital stamps are not accepted).

- Criminal record: A criminal record in India could result in visa rejection.
- Previous denials: Previous denial of entry into Saudi Arabia may affect your application.
- Financial proof: Proof of sufficient funds for your stay is essential.
- Application form: Complete and accurately fill out the visa application form.
- Documentation: Gather and submit all required documentation.
- Purpose of visit: Be clear about the purpose of your visit when communicating with the Saudi embassy.
- Travelling with minors: Ensure you have the appropriate documents when travelling with a minor.
