Greece Visa for Indian Tourists – Requirements & Application Process

Eligibility Criteria for a Greece Visa
To apply for a Greece visa from India, you must meet the following requirements:
1. Valid Passport
- Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure from Greece.
- It must have been issued within the last 10 years.
- Ensure your passport has at least two blank pages for visa stamps.
2. Travel Insurance
- You must have travel insurance
- The insurance should cover medical emergencies, hospitalization, and repatriation within the Schengen area.
3. Proof of Sufficient Funds
You need to show financial stability to cover your stay:
- Short-term stays
- Longer than 30 days
4. Proof of Accommodation
You must provide proof of where you will stay in Greece, such as:
- Hotel booking confirmation.
- Cruise voucher (if applicable).
- Invitation letter from a host in Greece (for family or business visits).
5. Proof of Travel
- A confirmed flight itinerary, including arrival and return tickets, is required.
6. Purpose of Stay
You must submit documents based on the reason for your visit:
- Tourism: Travel itinerary, hotel bookings.
- Business: Invitation letter from a Greek company.
- Study: Admission letter from a Greek university.
- Family/Friends Visit: Invitation letter from your host in Greece.
7. Biometric Information
- If this is your first Schengen visa application, you must provide biometric data (fingerprints and photo) in person.
8. Additional Supporting Documents
- A completed Greece visa application form (signed by the applicant).
- Recent passport-size photographs (as per Schengen visa guidelines).
- Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the last three years.
- Bank statements for the last three months, with a bank seal & signature.
- Salary slips (for employed applicants).
- Business registration documents (for self-employed applicants).
Important Notes:
- Submitting false documents or incorrect information can lead to visa rejection.
- If you have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, you do not need a separate Greece visa.

FAQ OF GREECE VISA
Extending the visa does not fall within the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or consulates. In justified cases, the visa can be extended by the office of Aliens Police. The stay cannot be extended for the period of stay more than 90 days. More information on the extension of the visas can be obtained by the Directorate of the Aliens Police
In case of same purpose of stay, the applicant is entitled to submit both applications for Schengen and long-term visa in case the purpose of stay is employment.
The application is decided by the relevant consulate of the Greece. The processing time of the application is 15 calendar days. This time can be extended for up to 30 days and in exceptional cases for up to 60 days. The decision of the consulate is based on the presented supporting documents and the interview with the applicant.
