Luxembourg Visa for Indians – Requirements & Application Process
Planning a trip to Luxembourg? Whether for tourism, work, or study, Indian citizens require a Luxembourg visa to enter the country.
Types of Luxembourg Visas for Indians
- Schengen Visa (Short-Stay – Type C): For tourism, business, or family visits (valid for up to 90 days).

- Rental agreement (for long-term stays).
- Invitation letter from a Luxembourg resident (if staying with friends or family).
5. Proof of Travel
- Confirmed round-trip flight tickets.
- Internal travel bookings (if visiting multiple Schengen countries).
6. Purpose of Stay
Submit relevant documents based on the type of visit:
- Tourism: Travel itinerary and hotel bookings.
- Business: Invitation letter from a Luxembourg company.
- Work:
- Employment contract from a Luxembourg-based employer.
- Work permit and approval from Luxembourg authorities.
- Study: University admission letter and proof of tuition payment.
7. Biometric Information
- First-time Schengen visa applicants must provide fingerprints and a photograph at the visa application center.
8. Additional Supporting Documents
- Duly completed and signed visa application form.
- Recent passport-sized photographs (as per Schengen visa specifications).
- Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the last three years.

Luxembourg Visa Processing Time for Indians
The processing time for a Luxembourg visa depends on various factors:

FAQ OF LUXEMBOURG VISA
Extending the visa does not fall within the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or consulates. In justified cases, the visa can be extended by the office of Aliens Police. The stay cannot be extended for the period of stay more than 90 days. More information on the extension of the visas can be obtained by the Directorate of the Aliens Police
In case of same purpose of stay, the applicant is entitled to submit both applications for Schengen and long-term visa in case the purpose of stay is employment.
The application is decided by the relevant consulate of the LUXEMBOURG. The processing time of the application is 15 calendar days. This time can be extended for up to 30 days and in exceptional cases for up to 60 days. The decision of the consulate is based on the presented supporting documents and the interview with the applicant.
